Bosch 8 Zone Alarm Troubleshooting Start

  • Press and hold number 5 on your keypad.
  • System will beep 3 times and one or more numbers from 1 to 8 will flash.
  • Each number corresponds one or more error codes .
  • Most common problems are; system time not set, system battery not charging - needs to be replaced or communication error(problem with the phone line) .
  • Check your user manual for error codes explanation and how to troubleshoot them.
  • If you can not resolve the problem your self, please contact TNT Security Technical Support

Silencing Trouble-Error Beeps

  • Press the SYSTEM STATUS or # button twice or ARM and DISARM the system.
  • Doing this will silence the trouble beeps temporarily. Trouble beeps begin again 2-4 hours later in 1 minute intervals unless the trouble condition is corrected. If you have disabled Panel Beeps, system trouble will only be indicated by the system status light.

Sensor Failure

This condition occurs if a sensor is not communicating with the control panel. Trouble beeps will start and the SYSTEM STATUS or sensor number will stay ON and button will light. Press the SYSTEM STATUS button twice to hear which sensor(s) have trouble. Perform sensor tests. See manual for instructions

    Trip - Trigger Sensors:

    • Reed SwitchL Open the secured door or window.
    • Glass Brake: Tap the glass 3 or 4 inches from the sensor.
    • Motion Sensor: Avoid the PIR's motion sensors for 5 minutes, then enter its view.

Communication Error

  • This condition only occurs if your home security system tries to send a signal and cannot communicate with the phone number programmed or central monitoring station. IN case the alarm has been triggered your system will try to communicate with the ore-configured numbers or back to base monitoring station 6-10 times before it tells you there is a Fail To Communicate problem. Trouble beeps will start and the SYSTEM STATUS button will light.
  • Check to see if your phone lines are down. If you have a dial tone then go to the main panel and verify that your phone lines are connected. If the connections look like they are connected properly or if you need assistance, contact TNT Security Techincal Support.

Sensor Low Battery

This condition occurs if a system sensor has a low battery. The sensor may still be communicating with the Control Panel. Trouble beeps will start and the SYSTEM STATUS button will light. Press the SYSTEM STATUS button twice to hear which sensor(s) have trouble. Sensor batteries can be replaced by the homeowner.

  1. Locate the sensor.
  2. Open the sensor.
  3. Replace the battery.
  • Micro sensors take one 3V lithium coin-cell battery (CR2032)
  • Saw sensors take two AAA alkaline batteries
  • Crystal sensors take one 3.6V lithium battery
  • Motion sensors take two AA alkaline batteries
  • Smoke detectors take two 3V lithium batteries (CR123A)
  • 2-Way Talking Touch Pads take 2 AAA alkaline batteries
  • Key Fobs take one A23 alkaline battery

Sensor or Zone Open, Not Ready

  • This condition occurs if a door or window is open, or a system sensor has been disturbed or tampered with and not reset properly. For example, a Motion Sensor may be off the wall or a protected door or window may have been left open. Your system will indicate this condition to you by causing the SYSTEM STATUS button to light. When you press this button twice, the system responds with "Sensor # Name open" (Example: "Sensor 4 or Back Door Open" this indicates that the sensor on the front door is open).
  • Make sure doors/windows are securely closed Try opening and shutting the door or window. Check to see if the magnets on Door/Window reed switches may have been removed from the sensor. Make sure both magnet and contact are still mounted If you have done the following and open zone still exists please contact TNT Security Technical Support

Alarm In Memory

If an alarm has occurred it will remain in memory until cleared. Trouble beeps will start and the system status light or appropriate zone number will illuminate or flash. Press the SYSTEM STATUS button twice to hear the status report. If an alarm is in memory the panel will respond with the Sensor # Name Alarm. (Example: "Sensor 1 or Front Door Alarm").

To clear alarms in memory:

  1. Press the SYSTEM STATUS button. Listen to the status report.
  2. Press the DISARM button immediately.

System Time is not set

System time has been lost. Setting your clock:

  1. Please refer to the user manual to setup system time
  2. TNT Security PDF user manuals and instructions books.

System Low Battery

  • This condition occurs if the emergency backup battery has been drained. Trouble beeps will start and the SYSTEM STATUS/BAT/SERVICE WARNING will flash on the keypad panel.
  • The battery is usually drained if panel is not receiving electricity. After AC power is restored the battery will recharge. The panel will report low battery during the recharging process. If the System Low Battery report does not clear after 24 hours have passed with AC power restored, contact TNT Security Technical Support

AC Power Failure

  • This condition occurs when the panel is no longer receiving power from the transformer.
  • Check for a possible AC power outage.
  • Check breakers.
  • Check the transformer, see if it may have been accidentally unplugged or look for any loose wires, make sure your AC wires are connected.
  • When an AC Power Failure occurs, the backup battery will take over (If fully charged, it will last for 18-72 hours with no AC power) If AC power is not restored within 15 seconds, control panel will alert you with trouble beeps. Pressing SYSTEM STATUS or # twice will confirm the AC power failure.
  • If the failure was not caused by the above conditions, please contact TNT Security Technical Support
