Many of our customers will take time to consider the locations of their property that they would like to have protected by cctv. It will be different for everyone and the variables are usually dependent on a few factors and not always all of them are considered. The list below is just a suggestion of things to consider and it is in no particular order.
1. Insurance premium and how it might be affected by having cameras installed.
2. Whether the cameras are more intended as a deterrent.
3. Budget.
4. Distance of target from camera. Although many cameras have the ability to capture activity at a distance, the footage may not have the desired quality depending on how far away the camera is from the target. This can be even more important at night, and depending on the IR capabilities of the camera.
5. How many hidden areas are there on the ground floor of your property.
6. Is it possible to position one camera so that it will make another camera unnecessary.
7. Is it better to have 2 cameras crossing over to best capture an entire area.
8. How will bushes and other obstructions affect the camera performance.
9. Is it better to have cameras positioned lower to capture faces or higher to cover a larger area.
10. Do I need a camera at the front door.
These are just 10 examples of things you might consider when figuring out how many cameras you need. This is something a TNT installer can help you to work out by organizing a time to come and have a look at the property. It may be possible to do this online also but depends on the amount of information and images available.
